A Belated WELCOME!

So it seems as though we sort of started our blog kind of abruptly, with no rhyme, reason or introduction. I hereby take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you who Mike+Lora is.

Just a few facts about us:

Michael Livingston + Lora Rodgers are professional photographers who are based out of Orlando, FL and Savannah, GA. Both Mike+Lora graduated with Bachelors of Film and Media degrees from Full Sail University. They met each other while in school and it was then that they decided to start a company that specialized in bringing beautiful high quality photos to all of its clients. Today Mike+Lora Photography specializes in their own brand of "lifestyle photography". We capture people in the times of their life that matter most. Whether it be your wedding, senior pictures, engagement, band photos, or simply portrait photography Mike+Lora's brand of "lifestyle photography" is there to capture a beautiful naturalistic look that you'll love.

Lets start with Mikey:



* My Name's Mike people generally call me Mikey
* I'm originally from South Carolina.
* I live in Winter Park, FL
* I used to be sort of athletic when I was a kid but as soon as I became an teenager I traded all that in for a guitar and a camera
* I love to draw and paint, however my little hobby is nothing more than that... I can do some mean little doodles...
* I'm always using my phone to take pictures and religiously tweet on twitter. Follow us: (@MikeAndLora)
* I like to make short films, and music videos
* When I first met Lora, I wrote her a story about football hooligans for our creative writing class. She pretended to like it and that was the beginning of that...
* I like to ride around on my awesome wasabi green road bike... It has red handles...
* I love what I do... Capturing beautiful moments with my camera is such a fun job... Both lora and myself strive to be the best at what we do and want to give you the best photos we can...
* Oh and most importantly I love my family, my lora, and my dog...

Here's Lora!



* I was born and raised in England. (Yes, the accent lingers on...)
* I love juicers
* A bacon sandwich with brown sauce and a cup of tea makes everything better!
* I went to Florida Gulf Coast University for two and a half years studying Mass Communications before I went to Full Sail University to obtain my Bachelor of Science Degree in June 2008.
* We have a gorgeous dachshund-pug mix that we just love to bits!
* I’ve always had an insane passion for all kinds of Art.
* I once won a Photography competition held by The Orlando Sentinel young journalist workshop at UCF when I was 16.
* I attended Sylvia Young Theater School on Saturday mornings when I was a youngen. It’s the same school Baby Spice went to! Girl Power! I definitely can’t act or sing now after all of that but I loved every minute of it.
* My favorite musicians are: Lily Allen, Manchester Orchestra, The Honorary Title, DJ ET!, and whoever the flavor of the month is according to mwah! : )
* I don’t watch much TV but I religiously download episodes of UK Big Brother. I know, I know...Naughty, naughty! But I love it and there’s no other way I can keep up with it! ; )
* Shopping makes me truly happy. Clothes, bags, and shoes are simply divinity.
* I love Weddings more than any other event in the world.
* I wish to travel the world with my skills yo!

Abigail

Last week we were privileged enough to give 2 month old Abigail Parker her very first photo shoot. And what a lil model she was! We took Yanet's pregnancy pix with her hubby, Dan back in April so it was lovely to see them again this time with a beautiful new addition to their family. Mikey captured some great behind the scenes footage while we were there too so make sure you check that out at the end of the pictures!

JR + Miesha

July 20th we were fortunate to have captured the wedding of Miesha + JR Woodward. We didn't get to meet them prior to their wedding day as Miesha was planning their wedding from Missouri! None the less, their wedding ceremony was to take place at the Summer Bay Resort which we visited the day before to get an idea of how lighting and weather would be. It was raining around the time the ceremony was meant to take place so we were a lil worried. We put our worries to rest and had a good night sleep then woke up the next day to a whole lot of summer showers or what florida likes to call "mild t-storms". We met Miesha while she was getting her hair ready for her big day and later the sun came out just in time for a beautiful bride to walk down the sandy beach, scattered with rose petals. The day turned out beautifully and it was a pleasing to be a among a family that was so full of warmth and love. It makes us realize how much we truly love our job.

Kayla

We shot Kayla's Senior portraits a couple of days after Marianna's. Kayla attends UCF were she is about to receive her degree in hospitality. The weather was deemed to be rather sketchy all we week so we scheduled to shoot at around 3pm and then decided it best to push it back to 12pm as it had been raining around 3pm for the last few days. It meant that we were in peak Florida heat and humidity for a couple of hours but Kayla was a trooper about it. It worked out for the best as sure enough around 2:30pm it did start to drizzle and we were finished by then. We're really pleased how both these shoots worked out and were really excited to edit them. We hope you enjoy viewing them.
